Your future is digital

Postgraduate students at Robert Gordon University (RGU) have launched a digital campaign to highlight industry trends and the current digital skills gap.

The Digital Scot was launched last year as an online platform where current students could put their learning into practice. The website, created by RGU MSc Digital Marketing students, hopes to act as a voice for young digital marketers in Scotland, as well as give insights, showcase skills and attract employers.

The MSc Digital Marketing class of 2016 have now launched a campaign called ‘Your Future is Digital’ to highlight industry trends and the current digital skills gap as well as rebranding The Digital Scot to emulate its brand ideals and core values.

Jason Stewart, E-Commerce Manager at Aberdeen International Airport, has been one of the guest lecturers on the course. He said during a talk to the class: “Digital is across the board in high demand. There is probably not enough resource out there in terms of the brands that now need digital.”

A series of videos will be rolled out within the next few weeks showcasing the diversity of the digital marketing industry. This first video features industry practitioners emphasising the need for a digital skill set in the current climate.
