Xeretec goes the extra mile for Scottish charities

A leading managed print services provider has raised more than £10,000 by carrying out a range of projects and fundraising events in aid of a selection of charities throughout 2015.

Xeretec Scotland, which has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and Elgin, has taken part in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year for various charities, including Cancer Support Scotland, The Mungo Foundation and Carer’s of West Dunbartonshire.

For the second year running, the firm played host to a golf day and dinner in aid of the three charities, which included a total of 13 teams of four taking part to battle it out at the East Renfrewshire Golf Club. The tournament was followed by a raffle and prize auction during dinner, resulting in a total of £5077 being raised for worthy causes.

Xeretec then doubled this amount through various fundraising events, donating rounds of golf at Castle Stuart, a prestigious golf course on the banks of Moray Firth in Inverness, raising an additional £5000 for charity.

Employees at the firm have also been rolling up their sleeves this year to help paint a retirement home on behalf of the Mungo Foundation, a Glasgow charity with a range of community-based care and support services to people with learning difficulties. The team of four committed to the project, giving up time out of their weekend to help out at the home.

In addition to Xeretec’s chosen charity’s, Caitlin Davidson, senior accounts assistant at Xeretec, took it upon herself to organise a ‘Wear it pink day’ at the firm and raised more than £300 from employees for Breast Cancer Research, which Xeretec then doubled, taking the total to £600. She said: “Breast Cancer Research is a charity close to my heart and with a enthusiastic team at Xeretec, I knew everyone would be willing to get involved to raise funds for such a worthy cause. I’m over the moon with everyone’s contributions, and very thankful to Xeretec for doubling the funds.”

The firm has also donated prizes including a Xerox printer, an iPad and Kindle Fire to various fundraising evenings, has taken part in this year’s Jeans for Genes day and Text Santa appeal and has sponsored the St Patrick’s Day Charity Ball to help raise awareness and money for local children’s charities.

John Sheran, managing director of Xeretec Scotland, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has sponsored, donated and participated in our fundraising activities and community projects for these worthwhile causes. 2015 was a really good year, with all employees getting involved one way or another, and I hope we can achieve even more this year.”

Xeretec Scotland, which is part of the Xeretec Group, currently has 85 employees based across all of its Scottish offices, with a combined team of 220 employees throughout Europe.
