A new franchise Cricket league bringing a host of international stars, including a World Cup winner, is coming to Aberdeen in August.
The Scottish Super 10 will see teams for Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Perth compete in a total of 34 T10 matches, all of which will take place in Aberdeen.
The full men's squads will be announced in Dubai during the last week of April, but T20 World Cup winner Alex Hales is one of a number of names to have been announced.
The women's tournament will feature two franchises of 15 players, with the bulk of the squad being made up of current Scotland internationals.
The event takes place at the end of the Scottish cricket season, between August 16 and August 31.
Paul Macari, Cricket Scotland’s Head of Operations and Commercial, said: "We are delighted to see franchise cricket coming to Scotland this summer. The Scottish Super 10 will bring a fast and exciting format of the game to Scotland and we look forward to our men’s and women’s national stars competing with players from all over the world.
"It is particularly pleasing to see Star 333 committing to invest in the women’s game in Scotland with a tournament that will grow in the coming seasons."
Rashid Khan, one of the world's best bowlers, is the headline name appearing at the event thus far. He said: "This is really exciting news, and I am looking forward to participating in a European league.
"The competition will surely bring great mileage to cricket in Scotland, and I congratulate the organisers for this."
