Woodend Barn and Hampton Associates are delighted to announce that they have been successful in securing an Arts and Business Scotland's New Arts Sponsorship Grant.
The scheme aims to encourage businesses to sponsor arts activity within Scotland for the first time as well as support arts organisations in building new business sector partnerships. Arts and Business Scotland match the value of the sponsorship £1 for £1, with the Scottish Government sponsoring the grant.
The Barn is an award winning multi-arts venue in Aberdeenshire and listed amongst Creative Scotland's Regularly Funded Organisations.
Based in Aberdeen, Hampton Associates are one of Scotland's leading brand and digital creative consultancies. Developing the relationship between Woodend Barn and Hampton Associates, the sponsoring partnership will support the delivery of the Barn's music programme and the launch of a new website. Hamptons will provide £6,000 in-kind web design services whilst the matching grant £6,000 from Arts and Business Scotland will go towards the cost of the Barn's music programme. One of the most exciting events to emerge from this partnership is SOURCE, a weekend festival of globally inspired music and food. The weekend includes performances by MOBO award winners Sons of Kemet, who visited the Barn following a gig at WOMAD, as well as Mercury Prize nominated ESKA.
There will be a workshop offering for young performers and musicians to support the festival. Taking place between August 26 - 28, it promises to be a weekend to remember.
Scott Hunter, creative director at Hampton Associates, says, "Hampton Associates actively look to support creative organisations that give back and involve the community. The Barn offers a unique opportunity to work with a world-class, community driven venue where music has formed a central strand of the creative programme for the last twenty years, growing from strong traditional roots to encompass the best national and international jazz, classical and new music performers."
Lorraine Grant, director, Woodend Barn, says, "The Barn team is really delighted to have secured such a skilled and supportive local business sponsor as Hampton Associates. The process of getting to know each other and our respective customer-focused services has been exciting and has reconfirmed for me the many areas in which Scotland's creative and business sectors can learn from and inspire each other's work."
The sponsorship will last from August 2016 into 2017, during which time both the Barn and Hampton look forward to forging a strong working relationship to deliver a diverse and engaging creative programme for Aberdeenshire.
