Wood Group is encouraging businesses from across Aberdeen city and shire to tee off for charity.
The company is hosting a golf day as part of its drive to raise £200,000 in support of The ARCHIE Foundation’s ten step campaign to transform Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital into a world-class facility for today and tomorrow’s sick children.
The event, which takes place on Friday August 14 at Newburgh Golf Club, aims to further boost funds to support the renovation of the garden and reception areas of the hospital.
Wood Group’s pledge to support the ‘High 10 for ARCHIE’ campaign represents the biggest single sponsorship package ever received by The ARCHIE Foundation.
Laura Wood, HSE advisor, Wood Group said: “Wood Group has committed to support two of the 10 steps in the ‘High 10 for ARCHIE’ campaign - step one ‘A Warm Welcome’, the transformation of the reception area, and step nine ‘Fresh Air’, the upgrade of the garden and play areas at the front and rear of the hospital.
“The golf day is just one of a number of events we are hosting to drive us towards our ambitious fundraising target. We’re encouraging businesses from across the area to sign up for what promises to be a fantastic day, consisting of a welcome reception, 9 hole Texas Scramble, stableford start, followed by lunch, a round of 18 holes and ending with dinner and prize-giving. We’re also asking for support in the form of donations for a raffle we will draw on the day of the event.”
