A soon-to-be launched West End eatery has officially named its new head chef to lead the venue into a new era.
No.10 Bar & Restaurant, located in the heart of Aberdeen’s West End has strengthened its team with the appointment of head chef, Andy Stephen, formally of 210 Bistro.
Mr Stephen brings more than 15 years of industry experience to the role, originally starting his career in the West Coast at the Applecross Inn before moving to Aberdeen to complete his culinary training at Aberdeen College.
Andy, 30, went on to work for some of the city’s busiest venues at that time including, The Square Restaurant and The Olive Tree, before joining Café Coast for a year of teaching in the kitchen and latterly spent seven years at 210 Bistro where he was involved with setting up the restaurant and kitchen prior to its launch.
Head Chef of No.10 Bar & Restaurant, Andy Stephen, said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at No.10 and excited to be involved with the redevelopment of a much-loved venue in Aberdeen. Over the past of couple of weeks we have been working hard to build a strong kitchen team with a mix of different culinary skills and techniques, which I am looking forward to integrating and developing at No.10.
“The refurbishment is progressing well and I am currently working on the new menu design concept which will be centred on my passion for local, fresh and seasonal produce. The new look No.10 is going to bring a new style of dining to the area, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, complemented by a traditional, yet creative menu with innovative dishes to create a memorable meal. Following our launch, we will be nearing the Christmas period so it’s going to be a very exciting challenge and busy time for everyone involved and the whole team can’t wait to showcase our skills.”
Director of No.10 Bar & Restaurant, Allan Henderson, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Andy and his team to the No.10 family. Since announcing our redevelopment plans we have received tremendous feedback which is fantastic and we are eagerly counting down the days until we are open.”
No.10 Bar & Restaurant, based at 10 Queens Terrace, will comprise of a new 90-seater restaurant with private dining facilities and an improved bar with further seating. The new restaurant and bar, which is expected to be ready by October, will serve a traditional, yet contemporary menu using fresh, locally-sourced produce from the area.
