With just over six weeks to go until the highly anticipated Aberdeen Health and Wellbeing Festival, excitement is building as organisers unveil an inspiring lineup of speakers, exhibitors, and hands-on workshops.

Taking place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at The Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen, this completely free festival promises something for everyone interested in improving their health and wellbeing in the new year.

Founded by Dr. Emma Windle and Sarah Stewart, the festival was born from their shared passion for making health and wellbeing accessible to all. Their dedication has not gone unnoticed, with the pair recently receiving the prestigious Athena Award for their incredible efforts - balancing their jobs and family commitments while championing community wellbeing.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Omexom, a global energy infrastructure provider, the festival is free for attendees and open to all. Aberdeen Sports Village have come on board as the Activity Sponsor for the event, and Expro are the ’Refresh and Revive’ sponsor. With over 60 exhibitors, inspiring speakers, and hands-on workshops, this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.

Sarah Stewart, one of the festival founders, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing the festival back for its fourth year and once again would like to thank all the sponsors and supporters who make this possible. We are really excited by our line up this year which looks set to provide much inspiration and motivation.”

Steve Mosley, head of communication, Omexom, said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring and supporting this event. Employee wellbeing is at the centre of our business and being able to support the wider community in this way is truly rewarding."

Highlights of this year’s speakers programme include three thought-provoking and informative panel discussions: Changing Perspectives, Youth Wellbeing, and Your Wellbeing at Work. Speakers include local journalist, broadcaster and boxing influencer, Frank Gilfeather; British Army veteran and Invictus Games Gold Medalist, David Jarvis; and Olympian and advocate for performance and wellbeing, Hannah Miley MBE, to name only a few.

Aberdeen Sport’s Village is the official Activities Partner for the event and will be running classes and workshops across the day including Qi Gong, a Stable & Able Session, chair-based exercises, and retro aerobics. The team are also joining the wellbeing at work session to share tips and exercises for those who sit at a desk all day.

Lisa Vass, health and wellbeing manager for Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV), said: “I am thrilled that ASV are the Activity Sponsors for the 2025 Aberdeen Health and Wellbeing Festival. This event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase why prioritising health and wellbeing is so vital for everyone in our community.

"At ASV, we are passionate about inspiring and empowering people to lead healthier, more active lives and being part of this festival allows us to connect with the community, share our values, and celebrate the collective journey toward a healthier future. We are proud to play a role in making Aberdeen a vibrant and thriving place to live."

There will also be a series of smaller classes taking place across the day, including brain health, meditation, perfect your posture, and therapeutic yoga.

There will be a repeat of the North Sea Dip with The Baltic Boys and Aberdeen Surf Life Saving Club for anyone who wants to give outdoor swimming a try in 2025, along with a New Year’s Beach Clean, organised by Turning the Plastic Tide.
