VSA, the social care charity supporting the people of Aberdeen and North-east Scotland, held its Best of Care ball at the P&J Live on Friday, November 3, 2023.

The ‘A Whole New World’ themed winter ball, supported by principal sponsor Ithaca Energy, treated guests to an evening of Arabian nights-inspired entertainment with fantastic food, entertainment from a local dance troupe from Danscentre and popular party band Mad Hen. The evening was hosted by Scottish actor Jordan Young who stars in River City and Scots Squad, who also held the live auction proceedings. 350 guests danced the night away and helped raised over £120,000.

The evening also included a silent auction, heads and tails, a ‘3-wishes’ tombola and the chance to win a £5,000 white gold and diamond necklace, kindly donated by Finnies the Jeweller.

Sue Freeth, CEO of VSA, expressed her appreciation, stating: "Our annual ball is one of our major fundraising events and enables us to continue to provide the best of care to the city of Aberdeen and the North-east, changing the lives of many vulnerable children and adults. We are thrilled with the funds raised as a result of the event, kindly supported by Ithaca Energy, and would like to extend our thanks to everyone involved – from our board and team to our corporate supporters, guests and volunteers. It really is a huge, combined effort which we work on across the year.”
