Aberdeenshire based shortbread brand, Dean’s of Huntly was delighted to provide the Turriff Show with their delicious melt in the mouth shortbread as well as a special guest as they celebrate their 40th anniversary.
The Turriff Show, which has been running in Aberdeenshire for 151 years is the largest agricultural annual event to be held in Aberdeenshire and the largest two-day show in Scotland. The show is regarded as the main shop window for the promotion of agriculture and the food industry in the North-east of Scotland.
Dean’s of Huntly was pleased to provide shortbread for the Presidents Suite and have their much-loved mascot Shortie pay a visit to the guests there where he invited people to snap a selfie with him to be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes as part of Dean’s 40th anniversary tour.
The 2015 Turriff Show also saw the popular event celebrate Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink with support from VisitScotland, celebrating and promoting Scotland’s natural larder and quality produce to the many visitors the annual show attracts.
Philip Smith, VisitScotland Regional Director, said,“VisitScotland is proud to support The Turriff Show as part of Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink. As Scotland embraces its growing and exciting natural larder it’s great to see these popular, long standing and respected events get involved in the celebrations. To have Shortie and Dean’s of Huntly visit the show was a fantastic addition to another successful and exciting weekend. The Year of Food and Drink will see visitors far and wide come and sample a variety of great Scottish foods and Scots enjoying the delicious cuisine that is right on their doorstep. Visitors spend a fifth of their holiday budget on eating and drinking so promoting our natural larder is a recipe for success!”
Shortie will be continuing his journey in Dundee. Follow his progress at www.whereisshortie.com where you can also enter a fabulous prize draw!
