Ukraine has said it is ready to accept an immediate 30-day ceasefire with Russia following peace talks with the US in Saudi Arabia.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he would present the offer to Russia and that "the ball is in their court". Moscow is yet to comment on the issue.
President Donald Trump is expected to challenge Vladimir Putin to agree to the deal this week, which if successful, would be the first negotiated pause in fighting since Moscow's invasion three years ago.
In a joint statement, the US also said it would immediately restart intelligence sharing and security assistance to Ukraine, which was suspended after the unprecedented clash at the White House last month.
The statement added that Kyiv had also “expressed readiness to accept the US proposal to enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, and which is subject to acceptance and concurrent implementation by the Russian Federation".
Mr Rubio told a press conference in Jeddah on Tuesday that he hoped Russia would accept the proposal.
Donald Trump will also invite President Volodymyr Zelensky back to the White House after Ukraine agreed to the proposed ceasefire.
