The University of Aberdeen is currently offering organisations the opportunity to host a researcher to assist with the completion of a research project.
The Enterprising Researchers Project aims to:
- Offer businesses the opportunity to grow and develop by hosting researchers from University of Aberdeen in unpaid collaborations. These researchers have a set of skills that make them outstanding problem-solvers for businesses. These skills were identified at an earlier stage of this project and have been optimised through training and practice.
- Offer the researchers the opportunity to put their skills into practise in companies, solving actual problems and contributing towards the company’s growth.
Amongst the many skills that have been identified and are intrinsic to researchers are: analytic and critical thinking, creative problem solving, innovation, leadership and project management.
The project leader, Irine Losquino, has selected a number of successful, highly-skilled researchers and coached and trained them to optimise their skills. This offers Aberdeen businesses the possibility to host one of these candidates in a 2-3 week “mini-project” unpaid position.
The employer would give the researcher a concrete task or project that they would like to solve, something where an analytic, creative thinker may shine and help the company. These mini-projects can be used to fill a gap in any area of need (internationalisation, development of new markets, product development, brand development, etc.).
The candidate would work from the company’s premises or remotely and devise a solution for the question/challenge set by the company.
The candidates are experienced creative, analytic thinkers, with an eye for idea and project development.
