The University of Aberdeen Careers Service has launched a new placement initiative, Micro-Internships. These are short placements, between two and five days in duration, and provide organisations with the opportunity to have a piece of work or research completed, while also providing a student with relevant and insightful work experience within your industry. This enhances students’ employability skills and knowledge of current practices, and improves their eventual “work readiness” into graduate employment. Micro-Internships will be available in January, April and May 2016, and organisations will pay students at a rate equivalent to the Living Wage, of approximately £60 per day. Full details are available on our website at www.abdn.ac.uk/microinternships.
Micro internships are a new addition to our portfolio of student placement opportunities, including summer placements, Santander placements for SMEs and opportunities for Masters’ students to undertake a work based project. Full details of all these opportunities are available at www.abdn.ac.uk/employers.
The University of Aberdeen would welcome the opportunity to work with you to aid recruitment to your Micro-Internship.
