Council chiefs have topped up the empty units grant scheme on Union Street by another £500,000.
The project was launched last year, encouraging new traders onto the Granite Mile by offering an attractive package of perks, including up to £35,000 to help towards refurbishment costs.
Four businesses have already benefitted from the initiative, with one saying the new venture wouldn't have gone ahead without the support package.
The council's finance convener Alex McLellan revealed that 65 business have expressed an interest at the grants scheme last year, with eight new applicants arriving in the last two months.
German Doner Kebab, Tag Heuer, Lolo and Co and Cup have all opened up on the street with help from the package.
