Uber could be operational in Aberdeen before Christmas after an appeal against Aberdeen City Council's (ACC) decision to grant the firm a licence was withdrawn.
The legal challenge quashed any hopes of Uber operating in the Granite City by the end of summer.
Uber's Head of Cities, Matthew Freckleton, had previously told the ChamberTalk podcast that the ride hailing company would be looking to go "formally live" in Aberdeen "by the end of August".
But it emerged last week that the launch had been put on ice due to do a legal case being pursued by a single taxi driver.
The Press & Journal reported that ACC was defending a statuatory appeal over its decision to grant Uber a licence.
However, it appears the challenge has since been dropped, allowing Uber to continue with plans to launch in the city.
It's understood that a number of drivers have already been onboarded by the company and recruitment will now continue.
Given the timeline previously outlined by the firm, there are hopes it will be operational before Christmas.
