Environmental solutions provider TWMA is delighted to have supported Befriend a Child’s Giving Tree Appeal for the second consecutive year.
30 members of staff from TWMA’s Aberdeen office donated toys and gifts, which were distributed at the Befriend a Child Christmas party on December 10 at the DoubleTree Hilton Treetops.
The charity offers a one-to-one befriending service for vulnerable and underprivileged local children aged 4-16, and runs a Giving Tree Appeal every year with the aim of providing a Christmas gift for every child supported by the charity.
Douglas Garrick, director at TWMA, said: “We have had a fantastic response from staff who kindly donated toys and gifts to the appeal and it’s fantastic to see our team getting behind such a worthy cause.
“Christmas can be a difficult time for many families and we want to help make sure every child has a gift to open on Christmas Day. We hope that TWMA’s donations can help to support local children and put a smile on their faces over the festive period.”
TWMA is a strong supporter of both local and national charitable causes, and in 2016 has taken part in fundraising activities for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, Peterhead FC’s Kids Summer Camp, Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Now.
Douglas continued: “Supporting local charities that make a real difference in the community is very important to TWMA and we encourage our staff to take part in as many activities as possible throughout the year. Having helped so many different causes in 2016 has been a huge boost for our staff, and we plan to continue giving back in 2017 and beyond.”
