A trusted marketing powerhouse is hoping to continue its winning ways after being named as a finalist in a prestigious awards scheme.
Cerri McDonald, Founder and CEO of Aberdeen-based Prospect 13, has been named as a finalist in the PR, Marketing and Communications category of the BWC Aberdeen Athena Awards 2024.
Billed as: “a celebration of the incredible women entrepreneurs and leaders who are making a significant impact in the business community of Aberdeen,” the awards seek to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate accomplishments and inspire others.
The news follows Prospect 13’s win in the Student Placement section of the 2023 Northern Star Business Awards and provides further endorsement of the company’s founding aim to do things differently.
Prospect 13, which now employs a team of 10, was founded by Cerri McDonald in 2018 to reinvigorate her passion for bold, creative marketing and communications following a 20-year career in the energy and tech sectors. Since then, the company has flourished to become a trusted marketing powerhouse dedicated to supporting clients with results-driven strategies to unleash marketing potential. Delivering big agency results but with personal, boutique agency services the company was the first in Scotland to introduce innovative subscription-based support packages in its sector.
Commenting on the news, Cerri McDonald said: “My original strategy was to replace the income I lost through redundancy with self-employed work but, just three months in, I had to rip up the business plan because I was hiring my first member of staff and signing a lease on office accommodation.
“Since then, we haven’t looked back. I am enormously proud of everything we have achieved as a team. I always knew there was a place in the market for a unique approach to outsourced marketing and by bringing together a team of dynamic, like-minded individuals to support my vision, we have gone from strength to strength.”
The winners of the Athena Awards 2024 will be announced at The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen on November 15.
