The University of Aberdeen is stepping up its efforts to build stronger links with industry.
Through the creation of three sector-based business development posts, the University aims to increase the breadth of its strategic industry partnerships and strengthen its connections with the business community in the north-east and beyond.
Focused on the digital and creative industries, energy, and health and life sciences sectors, the business development executive posts signal the University’s continued commitment to supporting the growth of the regional economy.
Professor Peter Edwards said: “Each of these key growth sectors is an area of significant strength for us with our ground-breaking research, transformative collaborations and the commercialisation of intellectual property already playing a pivotal role in helping solve some of the most pressing challenges facing society.
“Originally established to serve the north-east of Scotland, while we are now a global presence in the higher education sector, our investment in these roles demonstrates the focus we place on our local region today is as important to us as ever.
“It is an exciting time for the University as we look to build further links with industry.”
The move is one element within a much broader set of measures being implemented by the University to support new company creation and economic growth.
