Kick off the festive season with The Trinity Centre’s annual Santa & Reindeer Parade with support from Aberdeen Inspired, taking place on Sunday, November 29 ahead of Aberdeen City Council’s light switch on.
Santa and his Reindeer will be in town offering an afternoon full of Christmas magic for kids and adults alike. The fun starts at the Castlegate at 12pm with a host of special guests including a giant stilt walking Santa Claus, Festive Seagulls and Santa’s Reindeer, from The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre. Santa Claus will be handing out free goodies to all children who visit him in the centre after the parade.
Pantomime characters, singers and dancers from local performing groups will ensure this is an afternoon not to be missed, with special guests Olaf and Peppa Pig.
But, Santa can’t pull his sleigh and hand out gifts alone – The Trinity Centre has selected two children to be Santa’s helpers on the day. The winners will get the chance to be in Santa's Sleigh for the duration of the parade and be able to help Santa hand out free gifts for to the children.
Linda Stewart, General Manager commented, “The Santa and Reindeer Parade has been an annual event for over 20 years now! Every year is a magical experience for the children and we love seeing their faces when they get to meet Santa Claus and his reindeer. A lot of effort goes in to organising such events and last year the parade brought in over 30,000 people to the streets of Aberdeen.”
Gary Craig, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “Aberdeen Inspired is thrilled to be involved with The Trinity Centre’s annual Santa & Reindeer Parade and I’m sure we speak for many when we say we are eagerly anticipating this year’s event.
“This winter the city centre has so many festive attractions for families to enjoy, with the line-up of attractions bigger and better than ever before, and the Trinity Centre’s much-loved parade an integral part of the programme. We look forward to welcoming you to what is sure to be a wonderful experience for all.”
