Trelleborg to showcase better sustainability solutions at major automotive event

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is to showcase its innovative solutions for better sustainability at a specialist automotive event in January 2017.

Trelleborg’s Blue DimensionTM concept highlights Trelleborg’s commitment to protecting the environment, people, infrastructure and assets. Examples of the Blue DimensionTM and how Trelleborg’s solutions have already impacted the automotive industry will be featured at Autosport International 2017 at the NEC in Birmingham, England.

One of Trelleborg’s unique energy saving innovations is the first ever active axle seal for on or off-road vehicles. The pioneering Turcon® Roto L reduces friction, which extends the seal life of axle systems and lowers fuel consumption. When pressurized, the Turcon® Roto L has less than half the friction of standard axle sealing solutions and it also reduces shaft run-in significantly, resulting in a seal life that is at least four times longer.

Andrew Longdon, UK technical manager at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, said: “At Trelleborg we believe that the benefits of our solutions stretch beyond functionality and business performance. Whenever possible we always aim for better sustainability, providing solutions that reduce environmental impact by saving energy or cutting emissions.

“We fight noise and vibration, save energy, respect the environment and safeguard infrastructure. This is what we call Blue DimensionTM and our ambition is to make the world as blue as possible. Applying the Blue DimensionTM to our products and the way we work means we reduce energy consumption, increase the life span of our products and lower maintenance.”

Autosport International is Europe’s largest motorsport show and will feature the very latest in motorsport, automotive and performance engineering technology, alongside cars and exhibitors from every level of motor racing.
