TOPSIDES UK 2016, Europe’s first and only conference and exhibition focused on the operation of topsides facilities, has today extended the submission date for conference abstracts due to multiple requests. This moves the original deadline of September 21 to October 2, providing companies with a further ten days to submit.
Companies are invited to secure a number of presentations in the conference, which is set to take place on March 16 and 17, 2016 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC), by submitting short abstracts outlining proposed topics and content.
The conference, which is dovetailing the Topsides UK exhibition, will feature panel-led discussion sessions on safety and competence, people and skills, production enhancement, cost efficiencies, and innovation and technology.
Topsides UK - organised by Xcite Media and sponsored by safety and medical technology firm Dräger – shines the spotlight on the supply chain and gives organisations the opportunity to demonstrate how their skills and innovation creates value through enhancing production and lowering capital and operations expenditure.
Dr. John Hargreaves, managing director of engineering consultancy Peak Global and chairman of the Topsides UK steering committee, comments, “We have already received a number of high quality abstracts, and, due to multiple requests, we have decided to extend the deadline.
“We are encouraging industry leaders to come together at Topsides UK to showcase the early successes in addressing the ongoing challenges, and the conference is the perfect way to demonstrate existing expertise, transformational ideas, and how the wider industry can benefit from a more cooperative approach to working smarter.”
Gavin Esslemont, Director of Xcite Media and managing director of oil and gas consultancy Xcite Commercial, comments: “For some time now, there have been continued discussions within the energy sector for it to address rising operating costs in the UKCS and the need to cooperate, engage and ultimately operate in a more efficient and sustained manner.
“By bringing together professionals from across the industry, our objective for the conference is to focus on topsides operations and share knowledge, learn how to work together more effectively, share best practice and discover ways of safely improving production whilst lowering the cost of capital and operational spend.”
Abstracts must be submitted online by October 2, 2015 and be between 200 and 350 words. These will be reviewed by the conference steering committee. All candidates will subsequently be advised if they have been successful in securing a presentation.
