Topsides UK 2016, is today calling for technical abstract submissions for its conference, taking place on March 16 and 17, 2016 within the GE Oil and Gas Arena at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC).
Topsides UK - organised by Xcite Media and sponsored by safety and medical technology firm Dräger - is Europe’s first and only event focussing solely on examining opportunities to enhance production, maximise productivity and reduce the capital and operating costs of topsides installations.
Dovetailing with the Topsides UK exhibition, the conference will feature panel-led discussion sessions on safety and competence, people and skills, production enhancement, cost efficiencies, and innovation and technology. Applicants are invited to secure a number of presentation slots in the conference by submitting abstracts outlining proposed topics and content.
Gavin Esslemont, Director of Xcite Media and oil and gas consultancy Xcite Commercial, comments: “For some time now, there have been continued discussions within the energy sector for it to address rising operating costs in the UKCS and the need to collaborate, engage and ultimately operate in a more efficient and sustained manner.
“There have already been isolated reports of quick-wins and successes resulting from early efforts to address the ongoing challenges, and we encourage industry leaders to come together at Topsides UK to showcase these demonstrable successes so that the wider industry can benefit from a more collaborative approach to working smarter
“By bringing together professionals from across the industry, our objective for the conference is to learn how to work together more effectively, share best practice and discover ways of safely improving production whilst lowering the cost of capital and operational spend.”
Michail Tzouvelekis, Regional Segment Manager, Oil & Gas at Dräger, adds: “Dräger is delighted to headline the first ever Topsides UK. It’s a great initiative for the oil and gas industry and we’re proud to be involved from the very beginning in what we hope will become a successful annual event.”
Katrina Dunbar, conference manager and owner of Dunbar Events and Marketing, said: “We are anticipating a great deal of interest from high calibre speakers to present at this event, considering the huge focus on creating value from ageing topsides assets. We are excited by the interest already received and we will be announcing our full speaker programme in due course.”
Abstracts must be submitted by September 21, 2015 and be between 200 and 350 words and will be reviewed by the conference programme committee. All candidates will subsequently be advised if they have been successful in securing a presentation. Late proposals will not be considered.
