The finishing touches are being made to plans for a much-anticipated celebration of the energy sector in Aberdeen on Thursday, May 9.
The city’s Marcliffe Hotel & Spa will be the setting for the prestigious flagship annual dinner of the Energy Institute (EI) Aberdeen, Highlands and Islands branch, an event which is widely regarded as one of the industry’s premier evenings in North-east Scotland and a highlight of the local branch calendar.
In keeping with the occasion’s well-established reputation for attracting high-profile speakers and delegates, this year’s line-up of presenters will include Steve Holliday FREng FEI (President Elect Energy Institute), Phil Kirk FEI (CEO, Chrysaor) and Ian Blackford MP (leader of the SNP Westminster Group).
Commenting on preparations, branch chairman Laurie Mackay CEng FEI said: “The Energy Institute branch has lined up a dynamic and thoughtful mix of high-profile speakers for an evening guaranteed to be brimming full of insights, intelligent conversation and light humour.”
He added: “We are delighted to be heading towards another sell-out well in advance of the event and we hope that as many people as possible will get on board with this year’s event, especially our efforts to raise valuable funds for the Lollipop Fund for Sick Children.”
