The empty corridors of Marischal College could soon be leased out as Aberdeen City Council (ACC) bid to recoup some much-needed funds.
Since CV19, the council HQ has often sat empty, as chiefs opt to work from home rather than in the city centre.
Chief landlord Stephen Booth has been tasked with reviewing all the council's assets "including but not limited to Marischal College and the Town House".
ACC's finance convener Alex McLellan, who brought forward the idea, told the Press and Journal it was "just sensible".
"If we get other big businesses into the city centre that would increase footfall, get folk into shops and hospitality venues throughout the week."
One option for the city council would be to lease part of the building to the UK Government after they announced the Granite City will become the home of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
And just last week Iain Anderson - who recently completed a business review on behalf of Labour and Shadow Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds - urged Labour to locate it's publicly-owned energy company, GB Energy, in the Granite City.
