Aberdeenshire based smart home services firm TL Tech have reached the finals of an international awards programme for voice application developers known as The Sparky’s. The Voice Spark Live judging panel review voice applications throughout the year to provide consumers with useful information on the capability of voice assistants and how to get the best out of their smart speakers, then based on their assessments select the top 20 from the year. It’s then down to a public vote to select the top three winners.
2020 saw TL Tech pivot their business to diversify into software design as a way to support their customers through the CV19 pandemic. A year ago, they launched a wellbeing focused voice application in the UK Amazon Alexa Skill store called Kindspace.
Thomas Laurenson, technical director at TL Tech said: “For many the smart home is still regarded as an extravagance, but there is huge potential for the smart home to support healthy ageing and our wellbeing. Voice assistants are the hub of the smart home and by far the most powerful tool in the smart home toolbox, it felt like a natural extension for us to explore this emerging technology.”
Caroline Laurenson, managing director at TL Tech said: “Kindspace has become so much more than we ever could have imagined, and we owe so much to our amazing supporters who donated to our Crowdfunder campaign last year and indeed who have shared their amazing insight into the Kindspace wellbeing tips library. It would mean a lot to us to win this award.“
