Award-winning architecture and interior design firm, TINTO, have secured planning permission for two significant projects within Aberdeen City Centre.

These approvals mark a key milestone for the firm as they continue to shape spaces that support social wellbeing and environmental responsibility.

The first project is for Station House Media Unit (SHMU) for the addition of a single-storey extension and dormer to their building in Aberdeen, significantly enhancing the facilities and supporting their incredible work in community media. The carefully designed community hub, featuring sustainable housing and enhanced public spaces aims to further revitalise the local area.

The second project is for the development of the largest electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in the North-East of Scotland. This ambitious project, located in Dyce, Aberdeen, will include 22 charging stations capable of serving up to 200,000 vehicles over the next five years, supporting the growth of electric vehicles in the region, while also helping to meet Scottish Government net-zero targets

Richard Tinto, Managing Director at TINTO Architecture, said: “We are incredibly proud as a team to have secured planning permission for two such significant projects in the region. It’s a great example of our continued commitment to creating high-quality spaces that enhance communities and meet the needs of those who use them. We’re look forward to working in partnership to bring these projects to life and create more positive impact in the area”.

Headquartered in Aberdeen since 2004, TINTO launched a second office based in Glasgow late 2024, but continues to support projects spanning the whole of the UK.
