Ticket applications for this year's TEDxAberdeen event are
now open.
Making its return on Saturday, November 16 2024 at the
Music Hall, Aberdeen, TEDxAberdeen has secured its lineup of speakers from
across the North-east of Scotland who will bring this year’s theme of
‘identity’ to life.
Now the TEDxAberdeen Team is looking for their audience of
community minded attendees keen to make connections and discuss ‘ideas worth
spreading’ across the North-east.

TEDxAberdeen Licensee, Moray Barber said: “The audience is the final component required to make our day successful. We’re thrilled that for the first time more people will be able to enjoy the TEDxAberdeen experience. In previous years we have only had 100 tickets available however, this year there will be 300 tickets available to purchase. More people will be able to enjoy our roster of speakers who each bring their unique take and fresh perspective on our theme to the famed TEDx big red dot.
“TEDx events are all about creating the right environment to foster connections and spark conversations. Our 2024 cohort of speakers will do just that and I can’t wait to see them in action sharing their ideas."

Connected by the theme of identity, the diverse line up of ideas includes unpicking the brutality of the male identity crisis, using artificial intelligence to harness the power of our identities, the complexities of death and losing our individual identities, defying expectations as a route to transformation, the dark side of the personal development industry, challenging the narrow perceptions of immigrants, the value of words when defining our identities, the impact of fast fashion on our identities, the transformational power of living with a debilitating health condition, and exploring the impact our jobs have on our shaping our identity.
Moray adds: “Judging by the number of speaker applications received this year, we know there is a lot of interest in TEDx events so we encourage potential attendees to apply for their tickets as soon as possible.

“Tickets cost £40 each which includes access to the TEDxAberdeen event programme of live talks, refreshments, lunch, and activities plus highlights from the TED back catalogue. Doors open at 08:45 and the event will close around 17:00.
“Applicants will be asked to share a couple of sentences explaining why they wish to attend and how many tickets they are applying for. It is a maximum of two per applicant.
“The application portal will close on October 13 so get those submissions in quick!”
The ticket ballot applications open on Thursday, October 3, 2024and will close on Sunday, October 13 at 10pm. Successful applicants will be notified by October 20 and provided with a link to purchase their ticket(s).
