We Too!, the Aberdeen based charity that empowers parents and carers of children with additional support needs throughout the city and shire, has been named as a finalist at the Aberdeen City and Shire Thistle Awards in the ‘Celebrating Thriving Communities’ category, sponsored by NorthLink Ferries.

The Thistle Awards celebrate the achievements of local businesses and individuals who exemplify excellence and innovation in showcasing the vibrant spirit and dynamic energy of the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire region.

Reacting to the news, the charity’s CEO & ‘Chief Ninja’ Phionna McInnes paid tribute to her team. “This was an extremely welcome surprise and one that is primarily due to the hard work and dedication of our ninjas who do such a power of work in our community throughout the region,” she said.

The charity has been shortlisted for the award along with Aberdeen Performing Arts and The Barn, with the winners announced at a ceremony in Aberdeen’s Chester Hotel on the evening of Friday, September 20.

We Too! creates inclusive “relaxed” sessions and events in the community for all the family to enjoy by working with a variety of partners across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

The events are a mixture of those produced and run by We Too!, and those existing events, run by organisations with our guidance and training.
