The Trinity Centre is delighted to be one of the piano locations for ‘Play Me I’m yours’ as part of Aberdeen Inspired Summer of Art Festival.
The project which started on Monday August 1 has been a real hit within Aberdeen and has been a focal point within the centre for the past three weeks. Employees and retailers within the centre have been ecstatic with the number of passers-by who have stopped to play a song or two; they have also been able to capture some wonderful performers on video which has been shared on the centre’s social media pages.
The Trinity Centre have decided to purchase the piano within the centre as all the pianos involved within the project are set to be sold and auctioned off after the project has ended to raise money for local charities.
Unfortunately due to sizing constraints, especially during the festive period, they are unable to keep it on site. The Centre Management Team has decided to donate the piano to an organisation which will be able to benefit and enjoy the piano every day; they are currently on the hunt to find a forever home for the Piano and are asking members of the public for nominations.
Linda Stewart, General Manager, commented; “We have loved having the piano on site and it has been an absolute joy watching musicians and customers of all ages enjoying the piano and the project as a whole.
If space permitted us we would have the piano on site everyday throughout the year but unfortunately we are unable to do so.
Rather than watch this opportunity slip by we have decided to purchase the piano to raise money for local charities and donate the piano to an organisation that will love and enjoy the piano on a daily basis.”
They are looking for an organisation in Aberdeen that can benefit from having a piano; to nominate an organisation simply head to one of their social media pages and send them a message with your suggestion, head to their website at www.trinityaberdeen.co.uk and fill in the form or call the centre on 01224 580076 and speak to a member of the team.
