The Press & Journal Gold Awards recently launched for the second year running and companies and individuals are being encouraged to be nominate themselves to be recognised across a range of award categories.

Fifty years ago last year, the fledgling oil industry started to emerge in a very different-looking Aberdeen. To celebrate this special milestone, the Press and Journal and its sister site EnergyVoice.com launched its very first Gold awards in 2015 to recognise those who have made a significant contribution to the sector and, just as importantly, to highlight those who will make it a success in the decades to come.

The Press & Journal Gold Awards, in association with Aberdeen Asset Management, are back for 2016 with the key message of endorsing and bench marking the industry as a whole and will provide an opportunity for all sectors to come together and be recognised. We will again award companies and individuals from the sector across a range of categories as well as adding another inductee to the Hall of Fame.

Press and Journal editor-in-chief Damian Bates said: “We are delighted to come back again to present the Press and Journal’s celebration of the vital contribution the North Sea makes to the lives of people in the north and north-east of Scotland.

“Since last year’s inaugural Gold Awards the industry has faced some real challenges and as a result has made some great strides towards reshaping the industry so it is fit for the next 50 years.

“The second annual Gold Awards gives us scope to reflect on the achievements the sector has made, to celebrate that when the going gets tough, the tough have got going.

“While the industry has been adapting to new realities, we should grasp the chance to build new relationships and also relax, enjoy ourselves and celebrate. The P&J has chronicled every moment of the industry’s rise, fall and rise again, and we are confident it will come out of the current tough times stronger than before.”

There are seven categories to enter – The entry process has been simplified this year and forms can be completed online at www.pandjgoldawards.com. Submission is free of charge and the closing date for entries is June 29.

The Gold Awards present a fantastic opportunity for those shortlisted and winning companies to receive positive recognition and PR, so don’t miss out on your chance to be recognised at these prestigious awards before the closing date of June 29. Please note that you can nominate one person and/or business for more than one category.
