ACVO TSI, Aberdeen’s third sector interface, is pleased to share the publication of the March 2025 edition of ACVO News, the free digital magazine showcasing the latest community news, updates and opportunities within Aberdeen.
This month’s edition features a spotlight on the newly transformed Great Western Community Centre. Once a former church, the centre is now a thriving hub for the local community.
In an exclusive interview with centre manager Andrew Murray, this month’s feature explores the centre’s transformative impact on the community with first-hand accounts from participants of the newly established indoor bowling club and Ana-Maria from Jazz Scotland who is based in the centre.
The March newsletter also welcomes Cameron McCready, chief executive of Home-Start Aberdeen, as a recent appointment to the ACVO board of directors.
With over 15 years of experience in the sector, Cameron will bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the board to further strengthen ACVO’s impact as Aberdeen’s third sector interface.
Another key highlight in this edition is the Volunteer Charter, an initiative set out by Volunteer Scotland to encourage third sector organisations to pledge their commitment to best practices in volunteering.
In the newsletter, Mike Melvin, volunteering services manager at ACVO, gives his insights on how organisations can become volunteer charter champions.
The monthly ACVO News plays a key role in promoting the work of third sector organisations across Aberdeen, as well as providing the latest funding opportunities, volunteering roles, events and vacancies in the city.
Third sector organisations, charities and community groups are welcome to contact ACVO to share their stories or if they wish to have a feature article highlighting the work they do in Aberdeen.
