The artist behind the international hit show White is back with Night Light, an exciting new show for 3-6 year-olds which will run throughout December at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen.
Widely regarded for his poignant and poetic shows for the very young, Andy Manley has teamed up with Danish company Teater Refleksion to create a seasonal play about night-time and the enchanting world that wakes up when the sun goes down.
Night Light is an intimate and immersive show that leads audiences on a magical journey through the dark and beautiful night. Audiences follow the adventures of a curious sleepless little girl who wants to know who looks after the night.
Night Light is children’s theatre at its very best.
The show was commissioned by Imaginate, Scotland’s world renowned national organisation championing theatre and dance for children and young people. It’s co-produced by Scottish producing company Red Bridge Arts and has been supported by the Scottish Government’s Edinburgh Festivals Expo Fund. Night Light will be on at The Lemon Tree from Saturday, December 1 – Monday, December 24.
Teater Refleksion are internationally recognised for their beautifully crafted puppets and intricate sets and Night Light is a visually beautiful production.
Talking about Night Light, Imaginate Festival Director Noel Jordan said: “The minute we heard of plans for renowned theatre maker Andy Manley to collaborate with Danish company Teater Refleksion, we were intrigued. Andy is known as one of the best Scottish artists making work for children (his remarkable production White is still in demand across the world) while Teater Refleksion are celebrated for their stunning and intricate visual designs. It seemed a match made in heaven and the perfect production to take on tour around Scotland.
Lesley Anne Rose, head of artistic production at Aberdeen Performing Arts commented “We are thrilled to present Night Light as our Christmas production for early years at The Lemon Tree this year. The show is pure magic and will delight young children as well as the child in all of us.”
