Baroness Michelle Mone OBE, the co-founder of Aberdeen’s conceptual workspace neospace, is to host its first networking event and panel discussion on the future of work.
Members of the local business community are to attend the exclusive Getting Back to Business evening tonight (Tuesday, September 21), alongside members of neospace who have already moved into the new £18m premises on Riverside Drive.
Radio presenter Lauren Mitchell will lead a Q&A session with Lady Mone, who will talk about her business career, the vision and inspiration behind neospace and how it has been shaped to create a workspace for the future.
Guest speaker Carolyn Taylor, head of mental health, resilience and wellbeing at global health and security services company International SOS, will provide insight into the new working environment, the challenges in organising the workforce and how people’s approach and mental health needs have changed since the pandemic.
Carolyn will join Lady Mone, her husband and co-founder Doug Barrowman, neospace managing director Nick Tat and chief operating officer Ian Minor for a facilitated panel session on the future of work.
Guests will also have the chance to look around neospace over drinks and canapes.
Ian Minor said: “We are looking forward to welcoming our invited guests to our first networking evening and we are particularly proud that our founders Baroness Mone and Doug Barrowman are able to join us for what’s sure to be an engaging debate.
“As many businesses start to make the return to the office, the concept of flexible hybrid working and coworking is becoming more and more evident. This is a hot topic at the moment and I’m sure there will be some interesting views on what the workplace of the future may look like.”
The first of its kind in the UK, neospace embraces the new way of hybrid working at home and in the office, offering a work, rest and play concept through a flexible membership model.
With a strong focus on wellbeing and wellness, neospace combines creative working spaces with meeting rooms and break-out areas. All the facilities are available on a flexible basis, with no lengthy contracts.
Members also benefit from top of the range leisure facilities, including a coffee bar, café and juice bar, gym and a golf simulator.
neospace in Aberdeen offers 78 tech-led private offices, 20 co-working pods and nine meeting rooms, supported by additional break out spaces and collaboration hubs.
It is hoped Aberdeen will be the first in an international chain of neospace workplaces.
