A special event is being held tomorrow (Aug 18) to say ‘thank you’ to volunteers at one of Aberdeen’s best-loved parks.
A reception is being held by Aberdeen City Council and Friends of Duthie Park for the Park Force Volunteers.
Aberdeen City Council Communities, Housing and Infrastructure Vice Convener Councillor Jean Morrison said: “The volunteers make such a big difference to helping keep Duthie Park beautiful so it is only right that they have a ‘thank you’ event.
“They give up their own time and effort and should quite rightly be proud of their role to play in helping to ensure the park is popular with both locals and visitors to Aberdeen.
“The volunteers also play a part in telling friends and family about all the activities and facilities available at the 44-acre park, which range from the Winter Gardens to water features to excellent playparks.”
Alan Amoore, Chairman of the Friends of Duthie Park, said. “It is only fitting that the contribution of the many volunteers, who undertake so much time, working in tandem with those employed by the park, to ensure the park is maintained in first class condition, is recognised and I know they will all certainly appreciate the gesture.”
