The University of Aberdeen is tackling our ever increasing fossil fuel energy demands through novel research that will help develop the renewable energy industry and the circular economy. Whilst the burning of fossil fuels for energy has a negative climate impact, it is also the production of everyday chemicals and materials (e.g. plastics, pharmaceuticals, fertilisers), produced using fossil fuels as feedstocks and an energy source, that also have a negative impact upon the climate as well as producing large amounts of waste.
To showcase the results of recent research, and to learn about our upcoming research, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce members are invited to a free lunchtime event on Friday, November 2, from 12pm to 2pm at the University of Aberdeen. You will hear from four outstanding scientists working on cutting edge technologies to transform renewable energy research including:
- Molecular buildings for Carbon Dioxide capture and storage
- Hydrogen evolution using photoelectrocatalysis
- Energy storage and sensing using 3D nanostructures
- Transforming Carbon Dioxide using elecrtocatalysis
