Sword Group has announced the appointment of Andrew Thom to the role of chief information security officer.
Andrew brings 20 years of experience providing technology services to the energy industry.
Prior to joining Sword Andrew was the chief information security officer at Wood and was responsible for the global security strategy and day to day running of the security function including incident response and security culture and awareness.
Andrew will be responsible for further strengthening our cybersecurity strategy, posture, and maturity across Sword Group including maintaining our accreditations in both ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
The hiring of its first chief information security officer demonstrates Sword’s ongoing commitment and recognition of the importance of cybersecurity to both Sword and our clients.
During his tenure at Wood, Andrew helped establish and chair an energy sector cyber security forum to share best practice and threat intelligence across the industry. Regular discussions on cyber best practice and sharing threat intelligence with peers strengthens the overall security posture of the industry sector.
