First Minister John Swinney has tipped Reform UK leader Nigel Farage to be the next prime minister.
In an interview with Daily Record podcast Planet Holyrood, Swinney revealed his "worry" about Farage getting into number 10, something he said would be "bad for all of us".
His comments come as Reform has seen growing popularity in the polls over the last year - and Swinney is set to host a summit of political leaders next week to discuss "locking out" Reform.
Discussing the prospect of Farage as prime minster on the podcast, Swinney said: “I think there’s a high likelihood that could be the case, yes. I worry about that very, very much.
“I think the values of the United Kingdom would be changed in an incredibly damaging way and the values of the United Kingdom would change fundamentally and how it’s perceived around the world.
“That would be bad for all of us.”
