With the number of people with cancer in the workforce expected to reach over 1.1 million by 2023, there is a growing need to provide expert guidance and support to both employers and employees affected by cancer.

Our free Virtual Cancer in the Workplace workshop is designed to help employers understand how cancer impacts their team and how to best support their staff at what can be an extremely emotional and stressful time.

Run by a Centre Head, this interactive workshop can help HR managers, Line Managers, and fellow employees understand the emotional and physical needs of colleagues with cancer. The workshop can also equip employers with strategies to best help and support their staff.

Lindsay Screen, People Services Executive at Admiral Group, said: “Cancer in the Workplace was incredibly valuable and helped build on our foundation of knowledge in this area. Although we have policies and practices in place, this session helps with both the emotional and practical areas surrounding cancer. I now feel equipped to support colleagues who are going through cancer or are caring for a loved one at home.”

The workshop itself will take place via Microsoft Teams on Thursday, February 16 at 10:00am, reserve your FREE space here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/virtual-cancer-in-the-workplace-tickets-456947080017.

After attending the workshop there will be opportunities to connect with our team at Maggie’s Aberdeen, and explore potential support and partnership opportunities.

Kevin, our Centre Head in Aberdeen, said: “A positive return to work after cancer treatment can significantly improve a person’s recovery from cancer. We can help you prepare and adjust your workplace to help your employees who are affected by cancer.”
