Galileo Empower is developing proposals for a renewable energy development in Aberdeenshire - Glenskinnan Renewable Energy Park.

The Energy Park is located in an upland area approximately 3km south-east of Strachan and 5km south of Banchory, and is proposed to comprise:

  • Up to 14 wind turbines, with a blade tip height of up to 220m and a total generating capacity of up to 98MW.
  • Co-location of solar PV with a generating capacity of up to 20MW and a battery energy storage system (BESS) of up to 30MW.

Galileo Empower is committed to ensuring that, wherever practically possible, local employees and contractors are used in all aspects of the development of the project, which will generate a total capital expenditure estimated at £185million.

Potential supplier opportunities include:

  • Construction, fencing, drainage and forestry contractors
  • Electrical contractors
  • Materials suppliers, such as building merchants
  • Plant hire and security
  • Waste management and fuel providers
  • Local hospitality providers, such as B&Bs
