Industry experts are today (July 29) being urged by Subsea UK to step forward and lead discussions on the current and future subsea challenges at next year’s flagship event, Subsea Expo.
The 10th annual conference, which takes place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from February 3 - 5, 2016, will examine and debate key industry topics including global markets, ROV developments, subsea innovation and offshore renewables.
Industry body, Subsea UK is calling for speakers to step up to the plate and voice their concerns over the challenges currently facing the sector as a result of the falling oil price in a bid for companies to take a more open and collaborative approach when looking for the short and long-term solutions.
Over 6,500 visitors from more than 30 countries took part in this year’s 2015 flagship event making it the most successful Subsea UK conference to date. The 2016 exhibition is an opportunity for those in the industry to showcase new technology, introduce different approaches and make their voice heard.
Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “The price of oil has dominated the headlines for some time now and it’s important that we reflect on the impact it has had over the last year and plan effectively for the future. It’s no longer enough to talk about what we should be doing as an industry, tough decisions must be made and implemented now. It’s time to explore new geographical markets, transform operating models and push forward new technology and innovation.
“Subsea Expo provides a platform for the industry to come together and address how we tackle the challenges that the current market presents as well as identify the opportunities there are both at home and overseas. Tackling the cost and efficiency challenge is now of paramount importance if we are to deliver a lasting change. It’s time to roll our sleeves up and find the best way to drive this sector forward.
“With so many of the globe’s leading subsea companies based here in the north-east of Scotland, the conference has fast become the best place to hear about the latest technological advances in the sector. This year we will again welcome the movers and shakers from the industry to reveal the latest developments, challenges and new solutions from all corners of the world.”
With over 200 exhibitors expected at the Subsea 2016 the event also provides an excellent networking opportunity.
The deadline for speaker submissions is August 28, 2015. For more information go to: www.subseaexpo.com.
