Studio 10, the award-winning Scottish media powerhouse, has
announced the first member of its highly anticipated CHAMP10NS team: Scottish
darts legend Alan “Soots” Soutar.
This groundbreaking partnership aligns with
Studio 10’s mission to celebrate exceptional talent and showcase the best that
Scotland has to offer the world.
Alan Soutar, affectionately known as Soots, brings an
inspiring backstory to this collaboration. A former British Commando turned
firefighter, guide-dog trainer, and celebrated darts captain, Soutar has made
an indelible mark on and off the oche. With over a decade representing Scotland
at the highest level and now entering his fifth year as a professional on the
PDC circuit, Soots continues to inspire audiences worldwide both competitively
and through his own exhibition series aptly named Soots Exhibitions.
“When I got the call to partner with Studio 10, I accepted
with no hesitation at all,” said Soutar. “We share a passion for pushing talent
in Scotland and showcasing everything that makes us Scots what we are.”
Studio 10 chief executive officer, Johnny Brooks shared his vision behind the
CHAMP10NS initiative, emphasising its deeper meaning: “The number 10 represents a group of smaller parts coming
together to create something bigger, something better, and something new. This
is what we are doing by teaming up with incredible personalities like Soots. We
are 10.”
The concept of CHAMP10NS embodies a dual significance. According to Brooks, it celebrates individuals who champion the 10 brand globally while recognising the inspiring journeys of the team members themselves.
“This is very much a double entendre,” Brooks explained. “Whilst we’ve got some amazing people proudly championing the 10 brand around the world, the word champion is also very much the most appropriate praise for their own incredible stories and why we are so proud to work with them.
“We’ve got military veterans, teachers, world-class athletes, and more incredible role models on the team. They deserve recognition, whether they’re already international stars or unsung heroes. They share our mission to lead the charge in the media and events space and to create some of the best entertainment in the world whilst doing so.”
This collaboration is just one element of Studio 10’s ambitious plans for the year, building on a stellar 2024 that saw the company win the UK Business Award for Excellence in Audience Engagement.
Founded by Johnny Brooks at just 25 years old, Studio 10 has quickly become one of the UK’s most sought after names in media and events. With an exciting track record for high-profile media and content, Studio 10 has earned recognition by engaging with millions of audience members in more than 37 countries worldwide.
The company’s achievements include producing a podcast with now former First Minister Humza Yousaf, and working alongside members of the British Royal Family, as well securing contracts with global brands such as Amazon, BBC, and Weber Shandwick. - Their highly successful mystery podcast events in Aberdeen quickly became one of the hottest tickets in town, featuring characters from Game of Thrones and Still Game, further cementing Studio 10’s reputation as one to watch.
Reflecting on the partnership with Alan Soutar, Brooks added: “Sharing the stories of a hero such as Alan, who embodies courage, hard work, and selflessness, is exactly why Studio 10 exists. Together, we’ll continue to push boundaries and celebrate what makes Scotland so brave.”
Studio 10’s CHAMP10NS initiative signals a new chapter in the company’s mission to spotlight remarkable talent while celebrating Scotland’s unique cultural identity. With plans to announce additional CHAMP10NS in the coming weeks, the team is poised to make an even greater impact in 2025 and beyond.
