The Scottish Oil and Gas sector is currently facing a significant challenge, where a decline in oil

price of more than 60% from recent peaks in 2014, combined with ageing of regional assets, is creating unprecedented pressure within the industry. In order to maintain a competitive position in both local and international markets, Scotland’s oil and gas sector needs to be innovative in creating new products whilst at the same time cutting costs both for themselves and their customers.

In response to this need, ARQ Technology’s Dr Alex Quayle, a Technology Development Specialist will lead a two hour introduction of the Product Lifecycle.

Learning objectives will be:

  • Standard terminology describing stages of the product lifecycle
  • How the product lifecycle applies to familiar technologies – both ‘disruptive’ and ‘sustaining’
  • Aligning the product lifecycle with the TRL ladder
  • How the product lifecycle can frame discussions around new technology
  • An introduction to some high level tools that can be used to manage the product

lifecycle.

Delivery will be in the format of a segmented presentation, with opportunities for Q&A at two intervals.

This event is open to all companies with activities in the oil and gas supply chain and will offer the opportunity to network and discuss potential support with Scottish Enterprise.

Who should attend?

  • How well prepared are you for a sustained low oil price?
  • Do you understand the lifecycle of your products?
  • How long is your product lifecycle and can it be extended?
  • Do you know where your products sit in the product lifecycle?
  • Have you changed your market proposition and the route to gaining new business?

With current challenges we expect this event to be in high demand, and numbers will be limited. To secure your place, register now.
