Leading auctioneering company, Thainstone Specialist Auctions (a division of ANM Group) held their first live online collective sale of the year at Thainstone Centre on Wednesday, January 19. A Timed Online Auction of builders equipment also ran in the days leading up to the sale.

Mark Barrack, head of Thainstone Specialist Auctions, said: “We are delighted with the success of the first Thainstone Online Collective Sale of the year. The largest plant, machinery and equipment sale in the North and North-east of Scotland continues to be popular with over 1,200 lots featuring in the sale – a 97.2% increase in entries year on year. As a result of lengthy lead times for new machinery, equipment, and vehicles, we continue to see a healthy demand from buyers seeking good quality second hand equipment.

Strong prices were achieved on the day in each section of the auction with a 2014 Case Puma 160 4WD tractor reaching the top price of £27,200. This was followed by a 2010 Manitou MLT 735 telehandler which sold for £20,500. The light commercial vehicles saw a 2020 Ford Transit 350 c/w Cherrypicker sell for £20,000 and the implement category saw a 2015 McHale C460 straw bedder achieve £6,800. Within the small plant and quads section a 2019 Honda TRX 500 FM6 quad sold for £4,200 and in the trailers and containers section a 2013 AJC mobile 4-man welfare unit sold for £5,900.

The company's online platform saw 630 bidders participating in the sale with buyers from right across the country. The comprehensive network continues to grow online enabling us to market customers goods to the widest audience.

Mark continued: “Looking ahead, we encourage those who are looking to maximise the value of their surplus business assets to get in touch with our highly experienced team on 01467 623770 for a valuation. Our next Thainstone Online Collective Sale takes place on Wednesday, February 16, and entries will be accepted from Monday, February 7.”
