ModuSpec has secured several contracts to support existing and new clients in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Totalling almost US$1.5million, the projects – all awarded in December – include scopes for clients in Egypt, UAE, and Oman.
Projects include the deployment of a real-time monitoring (RTM) system onboard a 7th
generation drillship to monitor the health and operational efficiency of the subsea blow out preventer (BOP) during a multi-well deepwater drilling programme offshore Egypt.
ModuSpec’s RTM Center in Houston will monitor the BOP during a 24-hour period, including utilising digital pressure testing (DPT) monitoring equipment.
Also in Egypt, a client will benefit from ModuSpec’s presence during the intake of a 6th
generation dual activity drill ship commencing contract in early 2025. A multi-discipline team will join the rig to verify readiness of the major equipment and systems including assessment of the robustness of the health, safety and environmental system and crew competency.
In the UAE, a team of drilling rig technical experts will support a national oil company to verify the level of completeness and compliance of multiple shipyard reactivation projects during Q1 2025.
In Oman, the Rig Inspection Workshop is scheduled to be delivered in Muscat in January for a national oil company drilling and wells team, following the relaunch of ModuSpec’s renowned technical training course to the industry earlier this year.
Mark Watson, operations director with ModuSpec, said: “Growth of our business in the MENA region is testament to the hard work of our business development and technical teams to diagnose client challenges and deliver a valuable solution.
"Not only are we delivering our recognised rig intake and inspection services, but we are also expanding to offer digital solutions and technical training. Deployment of RTM and DPT in the region shows that our clients place significant value on driving operational efficiency, increased uptime and savings related to subsea BOP drilling.
“Our success in the MENA region has exceeded our expectations and a big thank you goes to our clients for keeping their trust in ModuSpec to deliver solutions to their specific requirements.”
