Stork’s purpose of 'Maintaining a Better World' ensures the nationwide organisation creates a positive and lasting impact within the communities in which it operates.
At the beginning of 2024, Stork’s Aberdeen facility became ‘Part of the Clan’ and embarked on a two‑year staff‑nominated charity partnership with Clan Cancer Support.
Staff have supported the charity through volunteering efforts, raising awareness and vital donations. They kicked-off their fundraising journey tackling the burning embers of the firewalk, subsequently exceeding expectations striding the 18-mile Kiltwalk and releasing their inner strength during the Banchory Beast Race.
As well as participating in external events, teammates from various locations, including Stork’s office and yard facilities, offshore sites and onshore client premises, came together to organise internal fundraising activities throughout 2024 resulting in an impressive £43,068 being raised. This equates to:
- Providing full funding for Clan’s children and families services for a quarter of a year
- Fully financing Clan’s complementary therapy service in all our communities for a whole year
- Delivering 1,700 listening and support sessions to adults
Stork's dedication extends further than just monetary contributions. Employees dedicated their own time volunteering at various Clan events in 2024, showcasing their commitment to the charity. Additionally, staff from Clan supported Stork’s multi-award winning employee engagement platform, DRIVE, by presenting insights into the services they offer and how they can support.
To further support the charity in 2025, Stork employees have already signed up to take part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk in June and Banchory Beast Race in September.
Ruth McIntosh, Clan’s business development manager, said: “The team at Stork have gone significantly above and beyond our expectations since embarking on a charity partnership with us in 2024.
“From taking part in events to raise money for Clan, stepping in with volunteers when we really need them, donating clothes and generally flying the Clan flag – their support has been relentless.
“To raise nearly £45,000 for Clan in just one year is an amazing achievement which will make a solid impact across our organisation. We’d like to sincerely thank them for their commitment and passion for Clan and look forward to continuing and building on our partnership throughout 2025.”
Steve Hunt, Stork’s regional director in the UK, shared: “As a leadership team, we’re immensely proud of our people's dedication to charitable and community-focused causes.”
Our corporate social responsibility efforts in the UK have shown remarkable growth, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing the ongoing positive influence our team will have in 2025 and beyond.”
