Sport Aberdeen has signed up for the Love to Ride – National Cycle Challenge and are encouraging the public to join in.
Throughout the month of September, staff from the registered charity as well as other organisations around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, are asked to register for the challenge and record their cycling activity in a bid to encourage healthy commutes to and from the workplace as well as outwith working hours.
With the challenge launching Thursday September 1, Sport Aberdeen employees are boasting their second place position in the league table for organisations with a workforce of 50-199, with their recorded activity.
With obvious health & environmental benefits as well as various prizes up for grabs throughout the challenge, Sport Aberdeen is keen to inspire the public to encourage their organisations to join in.
Sport Aberdeen ICT manager Steve Smart said:
“The challenge is a great way to enjoy some fresh air, get a little fitter and help to improve the environment around our city and shire. Every little helps, so whether it’s a 20 minute ride in the evening or replacing your usual commute by car with a leisurely cycle ride, you’ll feel better for it. #naeexcuses”
