SPEY, Scotland’s best small communications consultancy, according to the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), has kicked off 2022 announcing three new major policy improvements for its staff.

Firstly, SPEY employees will be able to partake in the agency’s annual bonus scheme. Based on company performance and profits for the financial year, it’s the first bonus initiative of its kind. Profits will be split equally amongst all staff who’ve been with the company for six months or more.

Additionally, in exceptional news for expectant mothers, SPEY has moved away from the statutory maternity leave model and now tops up salaries to 100% in the first six weeks, followed by increasing to 50% salary for the following 20 weeks. Paternity leave has also been increased to six weeks at 100% pay.

Managing Partner Jennifer Robertson said: “I am a firm believer that SPEY’s success is our team’s success so we felt it was appropriate to launch our bonus scheme, something which is quite rare across the agency landscape.

“And as a working Mum, I fully understand how difficult the burden can be to head off on maternity leave, both financially and emotionally, so being able to enhance our maternity package makes me extremely proud. At SPEY we have all achieved some exceptional results over the last few years. 2022 marks our fifth birthday so what better year than to improve policies for my hardworking team. Watch this space for exciting announcements. Big things are going to happen in 2022.”

SPEY has expanded its retained client base by over 60% from 2020 and is on track to triple its turnover from 2018. Following some key client wins, the agency is recruiting to fill two new roles, Head of PR and Senior Associate. For more information, and how to apply, please see here.
