Following
its £300,000 refurbishment, Specsavers on Union Street held a celebratory
re-launch evening to showcase its new look.
Guests from
Aberdeen Inspired, Developing Young Workforce (DYW), Vision Scotland, and
Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, as well as a selection of social
media influencers joined in on the store’s celebrations, along with players
from the inclusive Taexali Rugby team which the store proudly sponsors.
Guests were
given a tour of the store’s new facilities, with some receiving Optical
Coherence Tomography (OCT) scans from some of the resident optometrists.
Others had the
opportunity to
test their ear health in the new audiology room where Specsavers’
audiologist demonstrated
some of the specialist testing equipment.
The guests also heard more about the ways in which the store engages with the local community with initiatives such as its annual homeless clinic, which has developed into a nationwide Specsavers initiative. The store’s directors discussed the proudest achievements of the 70-strong team and their commitment to Union Street as a locally owned business with one eye on the future.
During the evening, attendees were treated to fantastic new eyewear, complimentary of the store, with everyone loving their new looks.
Ophthalmic Director Laura Campbell, says, ‘It was great to be able to showcase our new look and extensive offerings in the heart of the city. We are really proud of the enhancements we have made and are delighted with the feedback we received from everyone on the night. Some of the guests had never visited us before, so showing off our upgraded facilities and the services our Union Street team can offer was exciting. This investment demonstrates our continued commitment to bringing a first class service to our customers and the community.’
