An Aberdeen-based charity, Somebody Cares Scotland, announced the retirement of its founders, Brian and Jenny Taylor, after 22 years of dedicated service to the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire communities.
The Taylors founded Somebody Cares in 2002 with a vision to support those facing challenging times. Under their leadership, the charity has grown to become a cornerstone of community support, providing food, clothing, and furniture to thousands of individuals and families in need.
On October 4, over 40 current and former staff, volunteers, and well-wishers gathered for a Retirement Lunch to honour the Taylors' contributions.
"We are overwhelmed by the love and support we've received," said Brian and Jenny Taylor. "It's been an incredible journey, and we're proud of the impact Somebody Cares has made. We're confident that the charity will continue to thrive under its new leadership."
Dr. Yekemi Otaru, Interim CEO, expressed gratitude for the Taylors' legacy: "Brian and Jenny's vision and dedication have touched countless lives. We are committed to building on their foundation and expanding our services to meet the evolving needs of our community."
Leadership of Somebody Cares will transition to Dr. Yekemi Otaru as Interim CEO and Alison Topley as COO.
