European property company Kennedy Wilson Europe Real Estate (KWE) has celebrated the launch of its latest office redevelopment at the Hill of Rubislaw in Aberdeen, following a £7 million refurbishment programme.
Around 200 guests attended a prestigious launch event last night (Wednesday October 19) at H1, previously known as Seafield House, to see the 30,000 sq. ft. of office space which has been upgraded to Grade A standard.
A high point of the night was a keynote speech from the world’s greatest living explorer, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who fascinated guests with stories from his global expeditions. Sir Ranulph is currently undertaking the last four stages of his seven summit challenge, which sees him climb the highest peak on each continent around the world.
Matthew Milroy, asset manager at KWE said: “We were delighted to welcome so many guests to the recently refurbished H1 at the Hill of Rubislaw, one of the city’s most well-known and longest established business hubs and areas. We are extremely pleased to have hosted such a fantastic evening for the local business community, particularly with the presentation from Sir Ranulph Fiennes.”
Sir Ranulph has been a long term supporter of Marie Curie, a charity which supports people living with terminal illness, and has raised more than £2million for the charity in the past two years.
Mr Milroy continued: “The money that Sir Ranulph has raised for Marie Curie through his expeditions is truly incredible. As a token of our thanks to him for attending our launch event, and marking our commitment to supporting charitable causes, we were delighted to add to his fundraising total for Marie Curie.”
Completed in summer 2016, the refurbishment of H1 involves the significant upgrade of more than 30,000 sq. ft. of office space. With emphasis on high-quality and a comfortable working environment, the comprehensive refurbishment now sees the building boast a new air conditioning system, raised access flooring, daylight dimming LED lighting and panoramic views across Aberdeen city centre out to the North Sea.
Another feature of the redevelopment is a new, highly specified, multi-functional reception lobby. Home to a spacious reception desk with 24 hour security, the reception offers a highly impressive welcome for visitors and staff along with the ability to host events and presentations.
In addition, H1 provides communal working space through an exciting new business networking hub, ‘The Hub at the Hill’. The Hub offers state of the art touch down workbenches, informal meeting space and free WiFi. Together with The Hub, KWE will create a cafe with internal and external seating areas, available to customers at the Hill and city-wide.
Mike Pegler, Head of European Asset Management at Kennedy Wilson Europe, said: “The Hill of Rubislaw is a landmark area within Aberdeen, home to some of the city’s largest oil and gas companies over the last four decades. H1 has been designed with future occupiers in mind, and offers true flexibility with a variety of office sizes available.
“I have no doubt that the location and quality of H1 will attract both visitors and tenants, who we look forward to welcoming over the coming months.”
