Seminar to help sector navigate commercial landscape

A free seminar to support business in Scotland’s chemicals sector will be held in Grangemouth this Thursday (November 14).

Organised by leading IP firm Marks & Clerk, it will bring together experts offering advice on finance, business support, IP, law and more.

Marks & Clerk partner Richard Gibbs, a Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney, said: “Scotland is home to more than 200 chemical companies employing some 10,000 people supporting sectors including manufacturing, medicine, energy and more.

“The economic impact of this innovative and world leading sector is substantial and we want to play our part in helping it to thrive.
“Our Business Elements breakfast seminar offers the chance to hear from a range of experts who can help companies navigate the commercial landscape of the sector.

“We’ll discuss and showcase the support available to companies looking for funding, exploring collaboration, considering licensing or even preparing for sale.”

A series of interactive presentations and discussions will be given by expert speakers from organisers Marks & Clerk as well as the Royal Society of Chemistry, Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise, Burness Paul and Campbell Dallas.

‘A Business Elements seminar: Financial, Legal and Commercial Support for the Chemical Sciences Sector’ takes place at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel, Grange Road, Polmont on Thursday, November 14, from 8.30am-12.30pm.
